VIETATO L’INGRESSO. DESIGN AND THEATRE UNITED FOR A NEW START

Battaglia participates, with the project CRISALIDE, in the contest to give new life to the 17 dressing rooms of the TAM Teatro Arcimboldi in Milan

In September, to coincide with Milan Design Week 2021, the Arcimboldi Theatre in Milan will reopen its doors to the public with the VIETATO L'INGRESSO project curated by Giulia Pellegrino, which represents the encounter between the worlds of design and theatre. The new project sees 17 major design studios and design firms breathe new life into the dressing rooms of TAM Teatro Arcimboldi in Milan, visitors will also have exceptional access to the artists' dressing rooms, a magical and secret space normally closed to the public.

Alongside the Galante-Menichini studio, Battaglia takes part in the contest with Dedar, Flos, Pizzetti, Laufen, Matteo Brioni, Olivari and Pictalab presenting the CRISALIDE project, which brings Battaglia’s unmistakable style to one of the theatre's 17 dressing rooms.

Visitors will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the new worlds created by the studios, and to admire the design solutions adopted, the high quality of the proposals and the different styles. The project actually turns out to be a unique and sensorial exploration game that invites the public to become not just spectators, but protagonists. In fact, it will be possible until 27 September to vote online on the TAM website for one's favourite dressing room and express up to two preferences.

The winning studio will be commissioned to renovate the "Camerino Muti", the theatre's main 40-square-metre dressing room that has hosted and will continue to host some of the greatest national and international stars: from Ludovico Einaudi to Paolo Conte, from Roberto Bolle to David Parsons, from Bob Dylan to the Dalai Lama, from Liza Minelli to Charles Aznavour, from Sting to Sir Elton John.

More than 120 technical partners, companies and workers will participate in the realisation of the project. A clear example of how, at a time of great difficulty for the theatre sector, Art helps Art.
